Michael Jackson in Comics

Published by: NBM Publishing
Written by: Ceka
Format: 192 pages, Color
ISBN: 9781681122281
Ages: 13 and up

For the first time ever, the life and legacy of the “King of Pop” is presented in graphic novel form. Biographer Ceka has compiled a thorough history of the life of Michael Jackson and teamed up with a handful of talented illustrators to share his story with both old and new fans of the beloved and controversial pop star.

Readers will gain insight about the early days of the Jackson 5 through Jackson’s tragic death in 2009, when he was in the midst of planning an incredibly elaborate, sold out comeback tour. Along the way, readers are given insight into his personal life as well as the controversies that followed him later in his career. Those unfamiliar with him well get a great introduction to his life and rise to fame and those familiar may learn something they didn’t know before reading this book.

This biography is very well put together, with each chapter beginning with an opening prose about a period in Jackson’s life that leads into a comic-style telling. The narrative is presented in an objective manner that allows readers to form their own opinion. This title will appeal to teens and adults and will fit in well in school, public and academic collections. This is the seventh musician-based, biographical, graphic novel that has been published by NBM, who are known for their biographical comics.
