Portions of an ancient manuscript have been discovered by the agents of Chaos and their adversaries and now the hunt if on for Vampirella the seeming key to triggering a return of the Destroyer. When the entire population of the far north town Vampirella trades with is massacred she finds herself embroiled in the conspiracy. In New York city looking for answers she soon finds herself being pursued by old friends, agents of Chaos and the Scarlet Legion a team of warrior women assembled by the Vatican. In order to evade capture and hopefully find some answers she seeks help from her enemy Ethan Shroud, death dealer, and part of the Chaos cult. Now the race is on to thwart evil, and deny the entry of demons to the earthly plain.
This collected what you see is what you get mini-series finds Vamperilla strutting around in her signature white collared sling and knee high boots. Though lacking in character development new readers do not need any back story to quickly get who is who or understand the plot. Essentially Vamperilla, a supernatural (and super sexy) ally to humankind must disrupt a plot to bring the devil and or terrible demons to earth. Appearances are made by characters she has partnered with in the past; Adam Van Helsing (yes that Helsing), and Mordecai Pendragon a sorcerer and friend in the fight against Chaos. This title finds them partnering with Scarlet Legion the Vataican’s buxom fighting force of nuns who are more foe than friend to Vamperilla. The standard mystery, double crossing, bloodletting ensues. Nothing new here; still devotees of the genre are likely to find this enjoyable. This title is rated T+ and will be fine for most teen collections where scantily clad ladies are acceptable.
