“I’m not here for tech support! I’m babysitting a power plant grim reaper!”
OHM, the company that provides the world with seemingly limitless energy, has a problem. Terrorists have been causing rolling blackouts. To deal with this issue and destroy all his terrifying energy secrets, Mr Karloff sends in Sam, his greatest and most powerful creation, capable of absorbing HUGE amounts of energy. Accompanying and helping Sam is Doyle, a mid-level IT employee who is adequate at their job, but loyal to the boss.
What unfolds is a high energy, fast paced, adventure/battle/comedy up a massive skyscraper, robot without limits versus various types of energies, personified and made to resemble giant monsters. GHOST CAGE brings all the tropes of a shonen manga while communicating an unmistakable environmental message.
I really loved this graphic novel! The hilarious dialogue between all the characters alone is worth the story, but the fights deserve their time on the screen too. Someone should definitely make this an animated series.
Nick Dragotta (EAST OF WEST) and Caleb Goellner (TMNT: AMAZING ADVENTURES) team up to deliver GHOST CAGE, a graphic novel that should be enjoyed and shared.
Never underestimate the power of friendship!
