Disaster Inc.

Published by: Aftershock Comics
Written by: Joe Harris
Illustrated by: Sebastián Píriz
ISBN: 9781949028539
Ages: 18+

When a disaster happens, most people take the time to mourn losses and maybe even assist with rebuilding or relief efforts. However, there are those who choose to take a bolder, riskier approach, and desire to feed their curiosity by visiting and touring these sites of tragedy and chaos. This graphic novel takes this idea and creates the tourism company of DISASTER INC.

Abby, Paulo, Tosh, and Melody have gathered together and are trying to visit the site of the Fukushima Nuclear Reactor Disaster, the most serious nuclear disaster since Chernobyl that was caused (in real life, as well as here in the comic) in 2011 by a tsunami and earthquake. They take lots of precautions, as you would expect them to (water, Geiger Counters, radiation sickness pills, etc) but I doubt they ever prepared for what attacks them…. zombie samurai, whose corpses were disturbed all over by the earthquake… who want revenge for their wrongful deaths so many centuries ago.

Joe Harris (ROCKSTARS, GREAT PACIFIC, X-FILES) brings us a tale of adventure, but also shocking horror. The art style of Sebastián Píriz helps to provide the mood and setting extremely well. If you are looking for a graphic novel that skirts close to something that really happened, but also throws in a supernatural element that (other than the cover imagery) you’d never see coming, you might want to check out DISASTER INC.

Ages 18+. Adults only, for violence, horror, gore, and language.
