For a Viking, many tales and myths guide their everyday lives. One such tale tells of the Eye of Odin, and should anyone find themselves in possession of it, they must get it back to its rightful owner before the next new moon or die of boils and decay. In this story, who is the rightful owner? Mimir, King of the Frost Giants. Who currently has it? Helgi, a young Viking prince.

Setting out from his village, Helgi quests to save himself from a horrible death. Along with him are Stigr, a one armed smith who uses an anvil on a chain as a weapon, and Kadlin, a young adult woman who speaks to mice and believes she is a Valkyrie. Against them? Hundrafolk, Trolls, other beasts, and the sheer distance to the Frost Giant lands.

Will he make it in time?

Written by Doug Wagner (PLASTIC, VINYL, THE RIDE) and illustrated in a bold and action focused style by Tim Odland, BEWARE THE EYE OF ODIN is a fun quest-type tale. Fairly predictable, but still very entertaining, the story feels like a cross between Ralph Bakshi and Rankin-Bass, and will absolutely have you turning pages to find out what happens.
