Title: Stray Dogs

Ages – 14+

What happens when man’s best friend begins to suspect their owner and caretaker of being a dangerous criminal?

Sophie is the latest addition in a home of rescue dogs but she feels uneasy, confused and unable to remember how she got there. While the diverse fellow rescue dogs appear warm and friendly, Sophie is consumed with anxiety and unable to relax. The dogs who welcome her chalk it up to adjusting to life in a new home. But she suspects something terrible has happened to her owner but she’s not sure what and can’t remember anything from her past. When she’s triggered by a piece of her past, her memory becomes more clear and she’s convinced something is wrong and everyone is in danger. Sophie has to convince the other dogs something is afoul and get them to safety before their new owner finds out.

She embarks on a mission to find out more information about her past while helping the others remember pieces of theirs in an effort to shed light on their current situation. Short term memories make it difficult to remember, but their incisive detective skills help them immeasurably.

Stray Dogs is a beautiful illustrated, suspenseful and heart rending story that will grip readers from the first to last page.
